Queen’s University is pleased to announce that the agreement between the University and the Public Service Alliance of Canada and its Local 901 Unit 2 (PSAC) to renew the collective agreement for approximately 200 Postdoctoral Fellows (PSAC Unit 2) has been ratified successfully by members of the bargaining unit and the University’s Board of Trustees.
The University announced on November 5 that the parties’ negotiating committees had reached an agreement that was tentative in that it required ratification by both parties. The ratification processes have concluded successfully. The renewed collective agreement has a three-year term: July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2026. Some highlights are set out below. The Faculty Relations office will soon announce information sessions for supervisors and administrators where details of the renewed agreement will be discussed.
The minimum base salary applicable to Postdoctoral Fellows in the bargaining unit has been increased to $50,000 effective July 1, 2024. Across-the-Board salary increases will also be implemented as follows:

Prior to implementation of the negotiated wage increases, a special one-time salary adjustment of two per cent (2%) of wages will be applied to all current Postdoctoral Fellows for 2024 in recognition of their significant research contribution.
