The tentative collective agreement between Queen’s University and CUPE Local 1302 is now in effect following a successful ratification vote by the Human Resources Committee of the Queen’s Board of Trustees on Dec. 22, 2021.
CUPE Local 1302 bargaining unit members voted to ratify the agreement on Dec. 13, 2021.
The renewed collective agreement will succeed the current agreement, effective retroactively to July 1, 2021.
Negotiations between Queen’s and CUPE Local 1302 began on June 28, 2021. Bargaining took place over six full-day sessions. One of the full-day bargaining sessions was conducted with the assistance of a provincially appointed conciliator.
The new three-year agreement will expire on June 30, 2024.
Human Resources will be hosting an information session for managers regarding the implementation of the renewed collective agreement. Further information will be communicated in the new year.
