Research interests: Psychoanalysis, trans studies, literary criticism, and pedagogy in relation to social justice and creative emancipation.
Christopher Bennett is a PhD candidate in Gender Studies at Queen’s University where they previously completed both a BAH in Health Studies and an MA in Gender Studies. They have taught courses at the 1st-, 2nd-, and 3rd-year level and designed a special topics course for 3rd-year Gender Studies students studying psychoanalysis and social justice. Their research interests are at the intersections of psychoanalysis, trans studies, and literary criticism with a focus on the development of anti-colonial transgender subjectivities in transgender through a Lacanian understanding of love. Outside of the Department, Christopher works as a Writing Consultant for the University's Writing Centre and acts as the Secretary for the non-profit organization Ontario Digital Literacy Access Network. Private time is dedicated to reading, listening to music, and playing video games.
