Emily Johnston’s research currently focuses on identifying systemic barriers in the Ontario healthcare system, which prevent access and timely treatment for trans and queer populations, with specific focus on gendered diseases (oftentimes gynecological). Emily earned her Bachelor of Arts (Hons) at Trent University in Global Development Studies and Gender and Social Justice Studies in 2024. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, playing video games, and hanging out with her two cats, Joey and Lainey.
