Training is now available to help faculty members, librarians, and archivists to submit their annual/biennial reports using Faculty180 instead of the paper form.
Use of the online tool to submit their reports on or before the deadline of Feb. 1, 2017 will be voluntary.
“We have developed a number of training courses for the new software tool, recognizing that faculty, librarians, and archivists across the university who opt to use the tool to submit their annual/biennial reports have different annual reporting needs and requirements,” says Karina McInnis, Executive Director, University Research Services. “We want to make it as easy as possible for people who want to use Faculty180 to ease their administrative burden.”
Faculty180 gives faculty members, librarians, and archivists a convenient single place to keep a record of and manage CV-type information, such as professional achievements, publications, research funding, and administrative service to the university.
The key point is that we can finally enter our data each year and not have to then go through the same exercise but in a different flavour when we have to generate Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB) CVs or QUQAP CVs.

The aim of the software is to reduce the combined time and effort faculty members, librarians, and archivists currently spend on producing and updating annual/biennial reports as well as Canadian Common CVs, Queen’s University Quality Assurance Processes (QUQAP) CVs for cyclical program review, and a variety of personal CVs. Faculty180 also has the potential to reduce the administrative burden by streamlining the evaluation process for annual/biennial reviews.
Karen Rudie, a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, discovered several benefits of the new software after attending a training session hosted by the Faculty180 support team.
“Activities can be entered when they happen rather than entering all annual report information in January,” Dr. Rudie says. “The key point is that we can finally enter our data each year and not have to then go through the same exercise but in a different flavour when we have to generate Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB) CVs or QUQAP CVs.”
