Easter: Celebrates the resurrection of Jesus. It initiates the fifty-day period culminating in Pentecost.

Pesa岣�: (Until April 26 for Reform Jews; Until April 27 for Orthodox and Conservative Jews) Pesa岣� commemorates the departure of the Israelites from Egypt. It is the first of the three major festivals with both historical and agricultural significance (the other two are Shavuot and Sukkot). The evenings of the first and second days begin with Seders (festive meals and the telling of the Passover story). For Orthodox and Conservative Jews outside Israel Pesa岣� is celebrated for eight days: eve + first and second days + seventh (second last) and eighth (last) days are non-working.

The Festival of Ri岣峷谩n, termed by Bah谩鈥檜鈥檒l谩h the 鈥淢ost Great Festival鈥� and the 鈥淜ing of Festivals鈥�, commemorates the 12 days that Bah谩鈥檜鈥檒l谩h spent in the garden of Ri岣峷谩n outside Baghdad. The festival commemorates Bah谩'u'll谩h's public declaration of His mission to His family and closest followers. The first, the ninth, and the twelfth days of Ri岣峷谩n are Bah谩鈥櫭� Holy Days on which work is suspended.
