“THERE IS A CRACK, A CRACK IN EVERYTHING. THAT'S HOW THE LIGHT GETS INâ€
It is perhaps a cruel coincidence that Leonard Cohen died the day before Donald Trump was elected to America’s highest office. Cohen’s music, poetry, and protest songs captured elements of a universal human experience, cherishing the very perfection of our imperfections. Steeped in social commentary and piercing insights, his words and music weave a common thread through disparate human experiences and shine a light on our commonalities. Toronto’s Art of Time Ensemble has gathered a group of artists—singers, musicians, and authors—with a profound love and respect for Leonard Cohen’s work, to pay tribute to his legacy. Performances of Cohen’s music by singers Steven Page, Sarah Slean, Tom Wilson, and Gregory Hoskins, are presented in special arrangements for the Ensemble and paired with commentary, anecdotes, and readings by a selection of top Canadian writers.
*Seating for this performance is General Admission
