Description:
The annual Prizes for Excellence in Research Public Lectures will occur on April 3, 2017 from 4:30-6:30pm in Grant Hall. The Prizes for Excellence in Research are ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ highest form of research excellence recognition, and are awarded annually to five outstanding scholars.
This year, the speakers will be:
- Gauvin Bailey (Art History and Art Conservation) - A Baroque Palace in the Haitian Rainforest
- James R. Cordy (School of Computing) - This Means That: Programming by Transformation
- Stephen Vanner (Medicine) - Irritable Bowel Syndrome: Light at the End of the Tunnel
- Virginia Walker (Biology) - Piecing Together a Cold Quilt
- Janet Hiebert (Political Studies) - Can Parliament Protect Rights?
- Myra Hird (2015 recipient, School of Environmental Studies) - Canada's Waste Flow and our Global Legacy
