The term "human rights" can mean many different things to different people. Often when people think of "human rights", faraway struggles for freedom from state persecution are the images that come to mind. Yet, human rights are as much an issue for people here as they are for people around the globe. What are our human rights? Where do they come from? How do they relate to our everyday lives and, more specifically, to the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ workplace? This full day interactive session will trace the origins of our contemporary human rights system, explore what ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ policies say about human rights in the workplace, review basic principles of workplace fairness and respect, generate and share approaches to addressing human rights issues in the workplace.
