The role of Artificial Intelligence has been discussed in assisting clinicians for their routine medical practice for the past few years; however, the current COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated evolution of future medicine. AI has taken a front and centre role in assisting clinicians with the preventative, diagnostic and prognostic efforts. Specific cases of its application have been in a second-reader functionality for interpretation of radiological images, in chat bots, and for mining text data. In this talk, we will provide an overview of the recent literature on the role of AI for COVID-19 pandemic from a computer science perspective, in particular pertaining to medical imaging.
