The Data Quality Group started after a presentation to the Digital Analytics Initiative in May 2020. It focuses on preventable but common data issues and their causes. The group wants to enable data that is fit for purpose, for example, reliable and accurate data that needs fewer resources to prepare.
The Data Quality Group connects subject matters in data analysis to combine efforts. It provides a forum for collaboration and workshops to ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ data community.
Goals
- Establish best practices for better data quality at Queen’s University
- Foster collaboration across ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥
- Establish and promote a data community at ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥
- Share resources and provide information and training about data quality and related areas
Leadership and members
University Relations facilitates the group, but the leadership rotates. The members represent departments from across ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ and are subject matter experts in data analysis. They contribute to the group actively and take on responsibilities and leadership based on their expertise. The group meets every 4-8 weeks.
