After learning about safe fish eating in Lake Ontario from Colin Lake of the Ministry of Natural Resources, and then learning about efforts to revitalize fisheries in Akwesasne First Nation from Abraham Francis, the students got a lesson in how to clean fish from Chef Cody Balfour from Hospitality Services at Queen’s, followed by a sampling of freshly caught pike, perch and crappies direct from the lake the day before from Bay Williams Fisheries. A truly 100-mile diet!
