“One of the main reasons I chose ֱ was because it's the only law school in Canada that runs a prison law clinic,” Brown says.
“I plan on using what I'll learn working at this clinic to become an advocate for people who are often forgotten about within our justice system,” she says. “My goal is to advocate for true justice within our criminal justice system and find a way to humanize the people who exist within that system.
"This award has put a significant dent in my tuition fees and means that I haven't had to find a part-time job while in school. Instead, I'm working in the ֱ Prison Law Clinic (for credit), which comes with a substantial workload. I wouldn't have been able to participate in this clinic while also working a part-time job.”
