Alumni Volunteer Summit Takes Place This Weekend

For the fifth year in a row, ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ is gearing up to welcome new and continuing alumni volunteers back to campus for a weekend of learning and networking.

Alumni at volunteer summit"The Alumni Volunteer Summit allows us an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the value of volunteerism and of the impact of volunteer contributions here at ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥," says Sarah Indewey, Manager of Volunteer Relations for the Department of Alumni Relations.

New this year as part of AVS are specialist Sport Symposium workshops covering pertinent topics like fundraising, athlete recruiting, and booster club creation.

Other staple AVS sessions will cover how to get involved as a ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ Alumni Association volunteer, how to lead a volunteer team, and how to establish a QUAA Branch, while open discussions about reunion planning and the Initiative Campaign will give attendees the opportunity to directly address current issues at the University. A student panel discussion, lunch with Principal Woolf, and team building challenges will round out the diversity of available activities this year.

The weekend's speakers include Judith Brown, Executive Director, Alumni Relations and Associate Vice-Principal (Advancement); Tom Hewitt, Chief Development Officer; and ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ alumnus John Curtis, mediation lawyer, former Olympic competitor, and passionate sailor. Principal Daniel Woolf will also be talking to attendees about the University's seven key priorities for this year.
