You’re invited to an evening celebrating the incredible impact of Queen’s alumni in Calgary. Join us as we celebrate the recipient of the 2023 Johnson Award, Dr. Josephine Tsang, PhD’06 in person at the . â¶Ä¯&²Ô²ú²õ±è;

The Johnson Award is presented to Calgary-based alumni who have contributed to their community and distinguished themselves in their careers and through volunteer work. Dr. Tsang embodies the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ spirit of excellence, leadership, and giving back within the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ and Calgary communities.

Dr. Josephine Tsang 2023 Recipient – Dr. Josephine Tsang, PhD’06  

As an avid female scientist and a dedicated champion of social equity, sustainability, collaborative innovation, Dr. Josephine Tsang is fortunate to have shared 20 years between the worlds of academia, industry, and public sector. 

Josephine is the Executive Director of the . She is the former CEO of a charity in the social services sector, worked at , has worked in the energy industry, and on wide-ranging scientific research & development projects. She is a champion of science literacy and has taught liberal education at . 

Josephine is a former President of the Queen’s Alumni Calgary Branch and a former member of the QUAA Board and is an eager builder of engaged communities. She recently founded ChangentYYC, which empowers diverse youth to become change agents. She advises the Public Health Agency of Canada on vaccine confidence, the Queen’s Faculty of Arts and Science’s Dean’s Council, Vivo for Healthier Generations’ Capital Campaign, Mount Royal University’s Measuring What Matters, , and . She also works with many boards, including the , and is an engaged partner with . Standing up for what she believes in, Josephine also ran as a candidate for Member of Parliament for Calgary in the 2019 Federal Election.
